Swisson XMT-500 DMX , Ethernet and RDM Controller and Tester

Welcome the new XMT-500 tester and controller from Swisson.

The Swisson XMT-500 DMX, RDM and Ethernet test and control device builds on the Swisson XMT-120A/350 rugged build quality and adds Ethernet software to its testing abilities! The device remains very portable and it's rugged build quality fits comfortably into your hand. The XMT-350's large full colour IPS TFT display is well lit and is very easy to read.

The XMT-500 is powered by an internal Li-ion battery. The unit can be powered from, and charge via its built in USB-C port.

This is a very powerful hand held device with ample processing power and memory space. The following list of features is only the beginning. With all of that built in power, we look forward to upcoming software updates and new app functionality!

XMT-500 Basic Functionality

Test DMX input or output directly from a controller via the built in XLR connector, or from and Art-Net or sACN network via the built in Ethernet port.

Test XLR Cables on the device directly via the input and output XLR connectors, or remotely via the XLR port on the included dongle.

Test Ethernet cables for continuity and shorts using the included dongle.

Charge the built in battery, or power the device, via built in USB-C port with an external power adaptor (not included.)

Analyze DMX timings in real-time with reporting on DMX rate in fps, the number of DMX slots being received and timings for the Mark Before the Break, the Break, and the Mark After Break.

Built in RDM Controller functionality.

RDM Features

The XMT-500's RDM controller abilities enable it to monitored and controlled devices remotely. Conveniently set a device's DMX address and personality without having to climb a ladder or fly in a truss or pipe!

The XMT-500 automatically detects and lists all reachable RDM devices and highlights the selected device using the RDM Ident feature.

Status information such as personality footprint, DMX address, UID, Manufacturer, Device Type, Device Label and Personality are all displayed on the XMT-500s screen.

You can also conveniently change the individual Device Label from the XMT-500 as well.

Receive Mode

In receive (analyze) mode the XMT-500 can receive data from any active DMX line, or a Art-Net or sACN Ethernet network, and the real-time values can be viewed in percent, decimal or hexadecimal format. You can view single channels or all 512 channels at the same time in a graphical format.

If any DMX errors occur the XMT-350 will display "ERROR" in the top right of the screen, if there is not DMX signal at all "NO SIGNAL" will be displayed.

The XMT-350 has an intelligent channel search function that will enable the unit to only display DMX values that have recently changed, this allows you to determine what DMX values your console is affecting when you bring up a channel.

Valid DMX, Art-Net or sACN signals are readily displayed on the top of the screen when present.

Send Mode

In send mode the XMT-350 is capable of controlling any DMX device, from a simple dimmer to the most complex moving light. Control can be sent directly via the built in XLR cable, or via an Art-Net or sACN Ethernet network via the built in Ethernet port.

Control parameters such as the refresh rate (5Hz, 10Hz, 15Hz, 20Hz, 25Hz, 30Hz, 35Hz, 40Hz, or 44Hz), the number of DMX slots (1-512) can be changed. Channel levels can be displayed in Decimal, Hexadecimal or Percent.

You can control the DMX routing (XLR, Art-Net, sACN) and 0%, 50% and 100% intensities using the quick keys below the display.

Cable Testing

The XMT-350 is capable of testing both 5-pin and 3-pin (via included adaptors) DMX cable. The shield and all 5 (or 3) pins are checked for continuity and shorts and a graphical representation of any errors will be displayed.
